Product details
The CSB MU900S, part of the MU series, is a 2V valve-regulated sealed lead-acid battery that uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) technology, achieving up to 99% gas recombination efficiency and requiring no water replenishment under normal operation. This series evolved from the MSV and MSJ lines and targets higher-capacity float standby requirements, with telecom officially designated as its application.
In terms of capacity, the MU900S provides a 10-hour rate nominal capacity of 900Ah at 25°C and 1.80VPC; at 25°C and 1.75VPC, the 8-hour rate is 888.00Ah and the 20-hour rate is 1032.00Ah; at 25°C and 1.80VPC, the 8-hour rate is 872.00Ah. The battery can withstand a maximum charge current of 270.00A, a maximum discharge current of 5400A, and a short-circuit current of 10580A, with an internal resistance of only 0.36 mΩ.
For charging settings, the float voltage at 25°C is 2.21 to 2.25 Vdc per cell, and the equalize voltage is 2.35 Vdc per cell. Regarding temperature conditions, the nominal temperature is 25°C, discharge can be performed from -15°C to 50°C, and charging and storage are between -15°C and 40°C. The self-discharge rate is less than 10% after 90 days of storage at 25°C, with a maximum storage period of 6 months; the battery must be fully charged before use. If the storage temperature exceeds 25°C, a supplementary charge should be applied earlier.
The MU900S features a pure lead construction with a proprietary formula, and its case is flame-retardant polypropylene meeting UL 94-V0. The terminals are I3 threaded copper alloy terminals that accept M10 bolts, with a terminal torque of 249±50 Kgf·cm, 216±43 Lbf·in, or 24.4±4.9 N·m. Dimensions are 303.0±3.0 mm in length, 172.0±3.0 mm in width, and 497.0±3.0 mm in depth, with a weight of 55.90 kg (123.20 lb).
In terms of design life, it can reach 20 years in float standby service at 25°C and exceeds 12 years under Eurobat 20°C conditions, making it an ultra-long-life product. The product is manufactured to IEC 60896-21/22:2004 and is UL1989 recognized under file number MH14533. These characteristics make the MU900S suitable for high-capacity DC power applications requiring long-term float standby, such as telecom.
