As a member of the XHRL family, the CSB XHRL12170W features a 12V top-terminal valve-regulated sealed lead-acid battery design. Compared with the HRL series, this series focuses on enhanced high-rate current output to meet the demands of UPS and data center applications. Structurally, it uses valve-regulated sealing combined with absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology, achieving gas recombination efficiency of up to 99%; at the same time, through its pure lead construction and proprietary element formulation, it is purpose-built for high-rate UPS and float standby power applications.
In terms of power performance, the XHRL12170W achieves a nominal capacity of 170W @ 15min-rate under test conditions of 25°C and 10.02V per cell. Based on 25°C and 1.67 VPC, its per-cell power is 321.33 W/cell at the 5-minute rate and 173.67 W/cell at the 15-minute rate. In addition, the battery can withstand a maximum charge current of 17.00 A, a maximum discharge current of 400 (5 seconds), and a short-circuit current of 1243 A, with measured internal resistance of 6.33 mΩ.
Regarding charging and temperature conditions, at 25°C the float voltage should be maintained between 13.5 and 13.8 Vdc/battery, while the equalize voltage should be between 14.4 and 15.0 Vdc/battery. The nominal operating temperature is 25°C, the allowable discharge range is -15°C to 50°C, and the charge and storage temperature range is -15°C to 40°C. As for self-discharge, at 25°C it remains below 10% after 90 days, with a shelf life of up to 6 months, which can be extended to 10 months with equalizing charge; the battery must be fully charged before use, and if the storage temperature exceeds 25°C, charging should be carried out in advance.
In terms of dimensions, the battery weighs 13.58 kg (29.94 lb), with length, width, and height of 197.0±2.0 mm, 165.0±2.0 mm, and 170.4±2.0 mm respectively.
