Product details
Part of the XPL series, the CSB XPL3500 is a 12V top-terminal VRLA battery. It uses Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) technology with a gas recombination efficiency of up to 99% and is fully maintenance-free. The series sits within the high-capacity pure lead VRLA line, aimed at long-duration backup scenarios requiring large-format single cells, with data center UPS systems as the official designated application.
In terms of power ratings, at 25°C and 9.60V per cell, the XPL3500 has a nominal capacity of 3500W @5min-rate. Per-cell power output is 862.33 W/cell at 30 seconds to 1.67 VPC, 558.00 W/cell at 5 minutes to 1.67 VPC, and 318.67 W/cell at 15 minutes to 1.67 VPC. Maximum charge current is 29.20 A, maximum discharge current is 750 A, short-circuit current is 2206 A, and internal resistance is 3.83 mΩ.
Dimensions are 261.0±2.5 mm long, 168.5±2.0 mm wide, and 213.5±2.5 mm high, with a weight of 25.80 kg. The terminal is an I2 threaded lead alloy type, compatible with M6 bolts, with a terminal torque of 51.7±10.3 Kgf∙cm, equivalent to 44.9±9.0 Lbf∙in or 5.1±1.0 N∙m. The case is made of PP (UL 94-HB), with a flame-retardant (94-V0) version available on request.
For charging and temperature conditions, at 25°C the float voltage is 13.5 to 13.8 Vdc/battery and the equalize voltage is 14.4 to 15.0 Vdc/battery. Nominal operating temperature is 25°C, the discharge temperature range is -15°C to 50°C, and the charge and storage temperature range is -15°C to 40°C. For self-discharge, storage at 25°C for 90 days results in less than 10% loss; storage is possible for up to 6 months, extendable to 10 months with equalizing charge. A full charge is required before use, and if storage temperature exceeds 25°C, recharge is needed sooner.
In terms of design life, float standby service at 25°C reaches 10 years, and under Eurobat (20°C) conditions it exceeds 12 years, placing it in the Very Long Life category. The product is manufactured to IEC 60896-21/22:2004 and is UL1989 recognized (MH14533). With these characteristics, the XPL3500 is well suited to data center UPS and other applications requiring long-duration float standby power.
