Product details
The general purpose valve-regulated sealed lead-acid battery in the GP series—CSB GP645—is primarily positioned for float standby power supply. Its nominal voltage is 6Vdc, and its nominal capacity is 4.5Ah (20hr-rate). At 25°C, it can deliver 4.58Ah at the 20-hour rate, while at the 8-hour rate it delivers 4.24Ah (1.75VPC) and 4.18Ah (1.80VPC) depending on the cutoff voltage. Structurally, it adopts a VRLA design with an absorbed glass mat (AGM) separator, achieving a gas recombination efficiency of up to 99%, and it is a maintenance-free battery; the plates are made of pure lead, combined with a proprietary element formula, specifically engineered for float standby power.
In terms of electrical specifications, the GP645 can withstand a maximum charging current of 1.35A, while the maximum discharge current at 5 seconds is 60A for the F1 terminal and 90A for the F2 terminal, and the short-circuit current under the same 5-second condition is 151A, with internal resistance approximately 18.5mΩ. At 25°C, the float charging voltage should be set between 6.75 and 6.90Vdc, and the equalization charging voltage is 7.20 to 7.50Vdc. In terms of self-discharge performance, after 90 days of storage at 25°C, the remaining capacity is still above 90%, with a maximum storage of 6 months, which can be extended to 10 months with equalization charging; the battery must be fully charged before use, and if the storage temperature exceeds 25°C, charging should be carried out in advance.
In terms of dimensions and terminal configuration, the GP645 has a length of 70.0±1.0mm and a width of 48.0±1.0mm, with a height of 106.6±1.5mm for the F1 terminal version and 107.5±1.5mm for the F2 terminal version, and an overall weight of 0.87kg. Terminals are available in two options: F1 (Faston Tab 187) and F2 (Faston Tab 250). The case material is ABS (UL 94-HB), and a version compliant with flame retardant rating 94-V0 can also be provided upon customer request.
In terms of temperature adaptability, the GP645 has a nominal operating temperature of 25°C, an allowable discharge range of -15°C to 50°C, and a charging and storage range of -15°C to 40°C. The design life is up to 5 years under 25°C float standby conditions, and according to the Eurobat (20°C) standard, it falls within a 3 to 5 year commercial-grade life. Manufacturing specifications follow IEC 60896-21/22:2004 and it is UL1989 recognized (MH14533).
Based on the above characteristics, the GP645 corresponds to the general purpose applications covered by the GP series, such as backup power for security systems, emergency lighting, and medical equipment. Due to its design features of maintenance-free operation, low self-discharge, and float standby, it is well suited for environments requiring long-term standby power supply. When using it, it is recommended to properly plan charging and storage methods according to the actual ambient temperature and depth of discharge to ensure the battery remains in normal operating condition.
